Twelve ways to distinguish true and false lithium-ion batteries

2021-08-11
At present, the mobile phone is an indispensable tool for people, and the update is very fast. The battery life of a mobile phone is limited, so sometimes the mobile phone is fine, but the battery is very useless. At this time, buying a new mobile phone battery becomes a must. As a mobile phone user, what should I choose in the face of the flood of fake and shoddy batteries in the market? Below, the author will teach you a few tricks, hoping to help you improve your understanding of mobile phone batteries.

1. Compare the size of the battery capacity. The general nickel-cadmium battery is 500mAh or 600mAh, and the nickel-hydrogen battery is only 800-900mAh; and the capacity of the lithium-ion mobile phone battery is generally between 1300-1400mAh, so the use time of the lithium-ion battery after fully charged is about the nickel-hydrogen battery 1.5 times that of nickel-cadmium batteries, which is about 3.0 times that of nickel-cadmium batteries. If it is found that the working hours of the lithium-ion mobile phone battery block you have purchased is not advertised or specified in the manual, it may be a counterfeit.

2. Look at the plastic surface and plastic material. The wear-resistant surface of genuine batteries is average, using pC material, without embrittlement; counterfeit batteries have no wear-resistant surface or too rough, using recycled materials, which are easy to brittle.

3. All genuine mobile phone batteries should be neat in appearance, free of burrs, and have a certain roughness on the outer surface and feel comfortable to the touch; the inner surface is smooth to the touch, and fine longitudinal scratches can be seen under the light. The battery electrode has the same width as the cell phone battery, and the corresponding position under the battery electrode is marked with [+] and [-]. The isolation material of the battery charging electrode is the same as the shell material, but it is not integrated.

4. Regarding the original battery, the color and texture of the battery surface is clear, average, clean, free from scratches and damage; the battery logo should be printed with the battery model, type, rated capacity, standard voltage, positive and negative signs, and the name of the manufacturer . The hand feel should be smooth and unobstructed, with proper elasticity, good fit with the hand, and reliable lock; the hardware should be free from scratches, blackening and greening. If the mobile phone battery we bought does not match the above phenomenon, it can be preliminarily determined to be a fake.

5. At present, many mobile phone manufacturers are also from their own point of view, through efforts to improve the level of technology, to increase the difficulty of counterfeiting mobile phones and their accessories, thereby further curbing the phenomenon of counterfeit parallel imports. Generally, regular mobile phone products and their accessories must be consistent in appearance. So if we install the battery of the mobile phone we bought, we should carefully compare the body and the battery bottom case? Color, if the color and luster are the same, it is the original battery. Otherwise, the battery itself is dull and dull, and it may be a fake battery.

6. Observe the abnormal situation of charging. Generally, there should be an over-current protector inside the battery of a genuine mobile phone. In the event of excessive current caused by an external short circuit, the circuit will be automatically cut off to avoid burning or damaging the phone; lithium-ion batteries also have an over-current protection circuit. Standardize electrical appliances. When the AC current is too large, the power supply will be automatically cut off, resulting in failure to charge. When the battery is normal, it can automatically return to the on state. If, during the charging process, we find that the battery is seriously heating or smoking, or even exploding, it means that the battery must be fake.

7. Look carefully at the anti-counterfeiting signs. For example, the word NOKIA hidden obliquely under the sticker is one of the tricks. Clear and flawless is the original product; dim and pale is a counterfeit product.

If you look closely, you may also find the name of the manufacturer. For example, for Motorola batteries, its anti-counterfeiting trademark is diamond-shaped, and it can flash and have a three-dimensional effect from any angle, and Motorola, Original and printed clearly, are authentic. On the contrary, once the color is dim, the three-dimensional impression is insufficient, and the words are blurred, it may be a fake.

8. Measure the charging voltage of the battery block. If a nickel-cadmium or nickel-hydrogen battery block is used to counterfeit a lithium-ion mobile phone battery block, it must be composed of 5 single cells. The charging voltage of a single battery generally does not exceed 1.55V, and the total voltage of the battery block does not exceed 7.75V. When the battery When the total charging voltage of the block is lower than 8.0V, it may be a nickel-cadmium or nickel-hydrogen battery.

9. With the help of special tools. Faced with more and more types of mobile phone batteries on the market, and counterfeit technology is becoming more and more sophisticated, some large companies are also constantly improving anti-counterfeiting technology, such as the new Nokia mobile phone battery, it has a special logo The solution is to use a special prism to identify, and this prism is only available in Nokia. Therefore, with the improvement of anti-counterfeiting technology, it is difficult for us to identify the true and false from the appearance.

10. Use a dedicated tester. The quality of mobile phone batteries is difficult to distinguish from the appearance. To this end, a mobile phone battery tester has been introduced on the market. This battery tester can test the capacity and quality of various batteries such as lithium and nickel with a voltage between 2.4V and 6.0V and a capacity within 1999mAH. And has the functions of starting, charging and discharging. The whole process is controlled by the micro-solver according to the battery characteristics, which can realize the digital display of the measured voltage, current, capacity and other technical parameters.

11. Lithium-ion mobile phone batteries are generally marked with English 7.2Vlithiumionbattery (Lithium Ion Battery) or 7.2Vlithiumsecondarybattery (lithium secondary battery), 7.2Vlithiumionrechargeablebattery (lithium ion rechargeable battery) in English. Therefore, when buying a mobile phone battery, you must see the signs on the exterior of the battery block. Beware of mistaking cadmium-nickel and nickel-hydrogen batteries for lithium-ion mobile phone batteries because you fail to see the battery type.

12. When people distinguish between genuine and fake batteries, one small detail is often overlooked, that is, the battery contacts. Because the contacts of all kinds of brand-name real cellphone batteries are mostly annealed, they should be matte, not shiny, so based on this, the authenticity of the cellphone battery can be preliminarily determined. In addition, you must carefully observe the color of the contacts. The contacts of fake mobile phone batteries are often made of copper, so its color is red or whitish, while the real mobile phone battery should be this kind of pure golden yellow and reddish. Or it may be fake.
