How to maintain and save lithium-ion batteries?

2021-03-06
The self-discharge of lithium primary batteries is very low, generally can be stored for 3 years, the effect will be better if stored under refrigerated conditions. It is a good way to store lithium primary batteries in a cold place. Lithium-ion batteries can be stored for more than half a year at 20°C because of their low self-discharge rate and most of the capacity can be recovered. The self-discharge phenomenon of lithium-ion batteries, if the battery voltage is kept below 3.6V for a long time, it will cause the battery to over discharge and destroy the internal structure of the battery, reducing the battery life.
Therefore, long-term storage of lithium-ion batteries should be recharged every 3-6 months, that is, charged to a voltage of 3.8-3.9V (the best storage voltage of lithium-ion batteries is about 3.85V), and it is not suitable to be fully charged. Lithium-ion batteries have a wide application temperature range. They can still be used outdoors in winter in the north, but the capacity will decrease a lot. If they return to room temperature, the capacity can be restored again, subject to a certain temperature. Lithium primary batteries are different from lithium-ion batteries in that they cannot be charged, and charging is very dangerous. Other precautions are equivalent to lithium-ion batteries.
